The opening reception takes place at the Oslo Congress Center directly after the opening ceremony at 17.00, May 20th. Please indicate when you register if you want to attend the opening ceremony. This event is free of charge.
Reception Oslo City Hall
Participants of the EAWOP congress is invited by the Mayor of Oslo to a Reception at the Oslo City Hall, Thursday May 21st at 19.30. The City Hall is an impressive building and famous venue of the annual awarding of the Nobel Peace Price. This is a good 10 minutes’ walk from the Oslo Congress Center. The event is free of charge, but the number of participants is limited; please indicate if you want to attend this reception when you register for the congress.
The congress dinner will be at Gamle logen on Friday May 22nd at 19.30. This beautiful building dates back to 1836, originally as a Masonic lodge, later used as concert and banquet facilities. Walking distance from the congress centre is a relaxed 15 minutes.
For € 60,- you are offered a welcome drink and a three-course menu including non alchoholic beverages. Beer and wine may be bought separately, but is not included in the congress dinner fee.

AFF (a leading Norwegian Consultancy Company) is one of the congress sponsors., They will host a congress party for PhD-students (only!) in their charming residence on Friday May 22nd at 19.30. For € 30 you will have entertainment (!), drinks and tapas. The total number of participants on this event is 150.

If you have time off, and want to learn more about Oslo, the Oslo Guide Bureau invite you to two interesting tours exclusive arranged for the EAWOP congress. The first is a guided walk to historical and central attractions in the city of Oslo. The other is a tour by coach, where you will see the main sights of the city, but also the Viking ships, the Vigeland sculpture park and the famous Holmenkollen Ski Arena.
